What is the price of an interlocking concrete/brick/block machine?
The price of interlocking brick making machines differ.
Before discussing price, you have to consider the various specifications of the machine. You should check the level of automation, production capacity, and raw material used in the machine.
As expected, Fully automatic machines cost the most. On the other hand, semi-automatic machines cost lesser while manual machines cost the least. Production capacity can be defined in terms of blocks per mould and blocks per shift or hour. Those with higher production capacity cost more.
Another important factor is your location. Shipping costs contribute to the cost of the machine. You should contact the shipping authority of your country or our customer service for more details. They will guide you and provide all the necessary information.
What are the types of interlocking brick making machines for sale?
There are several schemes for classifying interlocking brick making machines.
Based on the level of automation associated with each machine, interlocking brick making machines are subdivided into two (2).
- Manual interlocking brick making machine.
These machines offer the least amount of human autonomy. In other words, the human input is greatest. Using this machine can be beneficial to you if you live in a country with high labour costs, such as Canada, the USA, Australia, and many more. If you do live in any of the countries mentioned above, then using a manual interlocking brick making machine would cause serious harm to your bottom line. You wouldn’t cover the cost of the machine on time.
- Automatic interlocking brick making machine
These machines are subdivided into two:
- Semi-automatic Interlocking brick making machine
The semi-automatic machines rely on human input: not totally but to an extent. However, you would still need fewer workers than when you’re using a manual machine. In terms of cost, this machine ranks as the second cheapest interlocking brick making machine. On average, a semi-automatic machine requires about 5-7 people to operate it.
Take your time to decide your needs and budget. If it happens to be a good fit, then you could go for it.
- Fully automatic interlocking brick making machine
Fully automatic machines, as the name implies, are automatic entirely. Human effort is at the barest minimum. The main advantage that differentiates it from the rest, is the production capacity and shaping/moulding speed. It is controlled by a PLC (programmable computer), making it easy to operate and maintain.
Although the cost is comparatively high, the efficiency and production capacity justifies any penny you spend on purchasing it.
If you live in a country with a high labour cost, you should consider buying these machines. This machine all but eliminates the need to employ many workers. On average, you would need to hire only 2-3 people to operate this machine.
How can I select a good interlocking brick making machine?
- Check the specifications.
A machine of lower cost does not always translate to an advantage. Sometimes, such a machine might not have the production capacity, raw material requirement, speed, or versatility you need. It’s crucial to check the specifications and focus on each of them.
Look out for the production capacity, and most importantly, the spare parts used. Remember that a machine is only as good as Its spare parts.
Also, when you call the company, take note of the quality of the customer service. Quality customer service reflects the company’s quality and shows how they would help you when you face challenges.
At Lontto, we use spare parts from reputable brands like Siemens, Schneider, Omron, and Emerson. This makes our machine easy to maintain and operate.
- Investigate the company or supplier.
You must buy interlocking brick making machines from only reputable names. By doing this, you avoid fraud, poor-performing machines, and many other problems. When checking the company, focus on the years of operation, certifications (vital), staff strength, and testimonials from other people.
Lontto has been in existence for 30 years and counting. We have a staff strength of 1000 comprising of trained and highly skilled engineers, customer service reps, and many more.
What should I consider before choosing a brick making machine?
- What is your business plan?
First things first: have a solid business plan. Ensure you include your budget. If you look for a machine without having a budget, you will become confused by the numerous alternatives available. Determine the highest amount you intend to spend before searching for a machine.
- Know the size of your factory.
Some machines are quite large while others are small. To know the size, you should consult the product specifications and see the dimensions of the machine.
That’s not all.
If you live in a country with a high land cost, you should go for compact and small machines.
- Decide on the production capacity you need
Interlocking brick machines offer low to high production capacity and cycling speed. You should decide on your production volume before choosing a machine.
- Calculate the labour cost in your country.
Minimum wage, cost of living, and other economic factors result in differences in labour cost from one country to another. Manual and semi-automatic machines require more labour than fully automatic machines. You should decide on how much you can spare to pay for labour.
- Shape, size, and type of interlocking brick you need
Although some are pretty versatile, every interlocking brick machine has its limitations in terms of the type, size and shape of brick they can produce.
- Mobility needs
Some interlocking brick making machines are fitted with wheels. These machines are good for you if mobility is your priority.
Where can I get a brick making machine?
A simple google search of interlocking brick making machines will turn up numerous manufacturers. Making a choice can be very confusing.
However, you can use characteristics such as reputability, time of operation, staff strength, and many more to see through the crowd.
You can contact our customer service desk at Lontto to make your order. Our factory is in China, and we are highly reputable and sought after by various interlocking bricks manufacturers across the world.
What are the advantages of using interlocking brick making machines?
- Reduction in cost of production
This is the most obvious. With the cost for labour eliminated or reduced, a high production capacity, and greater efficiency, these machines make your business more profitable.
- High-quality bricks
Unlike bricks produced traditionally, interlocking bricks produced with machines have higher strength, texture, and overall quality.
Interlocking brick making machines used high hydraulic pressures, strong vibrations, or a combination of both to achieve quality blocks.
- Production speed and capacity.
If you use the traditional method, interlocking bricks that take a year to produce can take weeks, months, or even days (depending on the machine you use). Thus, you can build faster.
Interlocking brick making machines offer higher efficiency.
Raw materials are readily available.
What is the advantage of using brick making machine over the traditional method?
Apart from other differences such as increased efficiency and production capacity, and reduced cost of production, using brick making machine offers ecological benefits.
There have been bitter cries by ecological scientists to take steps to save the earth. By using these machines, the release of carbon dioxide, which is associated with the traditional method, is eliminated.
Additionally, interlocking brick making machines use high hydraulic pressure. What this means is that bricks produced by these machines have higher quality, reliability, and durability.
What are the types of bricks?
- Sun-dried clay bricks.
These bricks are usually coloured brown. They have been in existence for quite a long time and are very popular. Due to their fragility, it’s not advisable to use them in permanent structures.
- Clay bricks
It is subdivided into four (4):
- First-class bricks
- Second-class bricks
- Third-class bricks
- Fourth-class bricks.
- Fly ash bricks.
These bricks are composed of clay mixed with fly ash which gives them their greyish colour.
- Refractory bricks
These are bricks built to withstand high temperatures without experiencing any damage. Hence, they are commonly used in lining chimneys, fireplaces, kilns, and so on.
- Concrete bricks
As the name implies, these bricks are constructed using cement, aggregates, and occasionally, a colouring substance. A major characteristic is their great strength.
- Calcium silicate bricks
Sand or lime bricks are products of applying immense pressure to the lime and sand mixture. After this stage is over, they are autoclaved.
Based on their chemical composition, these bricks are also divided into different types.
How can I know a quality interlocking brick?
Low-quality bricks can cause serious harm to a structure. To determine the quality of brick, tests have to be carried out to ascertain its strength, texture, etc. These tests include:
- Water adsorption capacity
The water adsorption capacity of quality brick is not supposed to exceed 25% of its weight. If it does exceed, there will be weaker bonding between the bricks.
To measure it, you should weigh the brick and soak it in water for 24 hours. After 24 hours, take the weight. To calculate the water adsorption capacity, let the first weight be A and the second be B. hence,
Water adsorption capacity
- Compression test
A brick should have a minimum compressive strength of 3.50N/mm2. If it goes lesser than this, then the brick shouldn’t be used for construction.
First of all, you should place the brick in a compressive strength machine. Place some load on the block and record the crushing strength of the brick.
- Resistance to abrasion
For brick to be quality, it must resist scratches on its surface. To test this, you should use a hard object such as a nail for scratching the surface. If it does not scratch, then such brick is hard.
- Efflorescence
Have you ever seen white deposits on the surface of bricks? That is salt. Over time, such bricks weaken and disintegrate due to the reaction between the salts and mortar water.
To avoid this, you can perform a simple test. Place the brick in water for 24 hours. Dry it under a shade and carefully observe the surface. If you discover white or grey deposits, such brick is not a quality one.
- Reaction on sudden impact
Take two blocks and bang them together. It should make a bell sound and shouldn’t break.
- Colouration
A good break should be uniformly coloured across the whole of its surface.
What should I do to maintain my brick making machine?
All machines produced or supplied by Lontto are the best in terms of quality, reliability, and optimum performance. However, it’s your job to ensure that these qualities don’t depreciate. The way to do this is through maintenance. Here are some tips on maintaining your interlocking brick making machine:
- Read the operation manual thoroughly. You should also consult it in case you experience any challenge.
- Daily check all parts of the machine. You should fasten loose bolts, oil moving parts and clean every part that needs cleaning.
- Only allow skilled and qualified professionals to service your machine. Leaving machine to be unskilled and unqualified professionals will do more harm than good.
If you purchase your machine from Lontto, we offer free training for your staff to operate and maintain your machine.
- Monitor the machine for any abnormal behaviour. It could be the sound, production capacity, etc., immediately you discover such change, fix it. If they are not taken care of early, it may lead to a bigger problem.
- You should replace the hydraulic oil every three (3) months. Also, ensure that you clean the tank before adding a new one.
